Here’s a poem I wrote for a friend I met recently who is an artist – found there was an attraction to her smile and personality and I wanted to get to know her better. I usually write ‘love’ poems – but this is an ‘interested’ poem. I sent it to her and she loved it! So, with her permission, I have posted it here for my friends to read.
And by the way – she said she would love to hang out *grin*
Creativity signs your name
calligraphy style across my heart.
Diamond smile glitters across full lips,
Stripping me of speech
Like earth stripped of light at solar eclipse.
Heart tips hat, greeting
For every fleeting second I get to see your face.
I want to get to know you
Love the pop-pop-pop of your champagne personality –
The intensity of your artistic curiosity attracts me:
opposite sides of magnetic polarity
linking in the middle –
as our eyes greet each other across the room
And meet with the intensity of electricity.
Passion’s light draws flitting heart’s sprite close
Focused on the prize, mesmerizing smile draws me in…
And I am lost.
So – I want to get to know you, and start
Of attraction’s abstract art.
