Poetry Workshop Assignment: Fifty Lines, One Sentence

Here is yet another one of my workshop pieces created at my first poetry workshop – as the title says, we had to write a fifty line piece that was one extended sentence.

Fifty lines: one sentence

I sit

Silently

Against

The wall

Staring out

At

The

Miracle

Formed

Within the womb

Of Nature

As

The bird’s

Eggs

Cracked

Like

Whips

across

Frantic Horses’

Backs

Beaks

Peeked

Out shyly

Like virgins

Nightie

On wedding Night

The faint tweet

Of little feet

Rustling

Among

The

Branches

Mother dances

As morning

Light

Brightly sparkles

With pride

As

New life gleams

And

Stuffs

First

Wriggling

Worm

As

Breakfast

Into

Hungry

Gaping

Mouths.

  1. Robert, I may have rated this by accident- please ignore any rating you see from me on this piece- lol- let me just say that this is amongst the best work I have seen from you, you cheated a little with the one word lines but… It’s all good 🙂
