This poem was inspired by a friend of mine. She encouraged me that writing is a great outlet for me – and after I felt like I was constricted and confined last week I didn’t – couldn’t – write… but this is my first poem since that short stint of mental blockage. Enjoy!
Cosmic Connection
Your aura draws my hand
Desire tempts
Taunts
Dares me to trace
your face
with trembling fingertips
Moth mesmerized by flame
gently brushing past
fire in confident eyes
That lights desire’s inferno.
Electric touch
Sparks fly
I see you writhe
as I
rest my palm
on small of back
and pull you near me
Resplendent gaze
amazes me
Fingers rise
Interlocked
Into locs
Then we kiss
Static shocks
Lips drawn together
with magnetic fervour
Opposite sides attracting
Empty space between
contracting
into nothingness
Our lips touch
Fuse
Infused with passion
Distraction dissipates
Fades
to
black….
Back
to
reality
One thousand suns resurrected
the moment we
disconnected
The Universe hums
Energy surrounds
Lovers merged with
Infinite.
