Wrote this sort of as a journal entry. I was feeling lonely and just had to get my feelings out on paper. Nothing else, really. It’s a pretty nice poem, even though it was more a brain dump than an actual crafted piece. Here is a little of my Heartache…
Heartache
I miss…
I miss
This…
Warm body pressed against mine
Divine connection as our lips press together
Light
Just … oh God yes … just … Just right
I miss knowing looks without saying a word
You heard everything I felt
Heart melts as your hug brings me into sanctuary
And I kneel and praise
For the days gazing into heaven through your eyes
For the ways
Your beauty makes me smile
My eyes close
My heart hurts
I miss
Miss the bliss caused by your mis-
taken notion that you understood the
potency of the potion you wield…
I field off your questions –
You can’t guess the surprise
none the wiser
Open your eyes… here…
A rose for my rose dear….
My eyes well up, tears
spill down pain’s fountain
Looking around, I start counting
the ways I could express my fears…
I miss
you.

Informal stream of consciousness style works well for this subject. Nice.

Brain dumps really make for some of the best posts and they do help sometimes, great bit of verse. Can tell someone truly was a miss.

touching piece with an ache to it that is quite felt…enjoyed the vowel sound play in this trio of lines

For the days gazing into heaven through your eyes
For the ways”

I missed this one somehow. You are right, it is similar to my 1000 candles poem. It is heart-wrenching and poignant. Excellent write!

I’m pleased you just let it all go to flow. Eventually, it is only time and distance from the pain that heals, as we in turn allow ourselves to heal. Lovely piece.
