Comfort

Followed where my heart went today. It’s a simple piece – almost a wordshine 🙂 I think I will use “Wordshine” as the name of this form of poem – a simple free verse, designed to snapshot an attraction in a thought, bringing a smile to someone’s heart, like the sunshine smiles over the world on a new day. It’s like my own personal take on the poetry forms of haiku and senryu, without exactly using either of those two forms.  What do you think?  I give you ….

Comfort

gentle hugs

grazing fingers

kissing neck

slipping

down tingling spine

 my heart nuzzles yours

wrapped up tight

against loneliness’

chill winds.

  3. I love that you named this “Comfort” because it *feels* so incredibly intimate ~~ the way new lovers feel ~~ comfort~able exploring each other ~~ that sweet relief of having someone in your arms, keyed up by the swirling passions within…as in ~~ a stolen moment by a low-landscaped wall near a town square

  5. Wordshine… what a wonderful word in and of itself. And your piece is perfect. Direct, succinct, true.
