I was inspired this morning to write a new piece. I hope you enjoy it!
Conquest
I want
To not be the explorer,
But the explored –
To be the land
Ravaged
Blazing new trails
into virgin territory;
Seeking veiled treasure
Hidden behind the unknown.
Making sojourn as musky heat rises –
Passion’s noon.
Skin scorched in blazing need
Seeking unattained zenith
Never before conquered.
I want to be the territory
Claimed in the name of the Empress
Lips taste salty sea-
Men’s brew…
Eyes have never gazed across this horizon before
Searching out new places to explore
She slowly caresses
contours of her claimed country
Maiden journey of discovery…
