Author Spotlight: Tam Avery

We’re continuing the Author Spotlight series with one of my favourite poets, Tam Avery.  Tam has written five  (EDIT: Really it’s SEVEN!) books of poetry that you can check out by going here – Tam Avery’s Amazon Page.  Please check her out!  I have told her before that her poetry is one of my most favourite to read. Her work turns me on with its wordplay and intellectual stroking of my cerebellum.  Please join me in getting to know Tam Avery!

Q: Tell us a little about yourself. Who is Tam Avery?
A: Tam Avery (Tamesha Avery) is just a woman who enjoys to read and write. She is a lover, friend, daughter and for sure a fighter.

Q: What got you into writing? What inspires you? What makes you think, “I have to write about that!”
A: What got me into writing was when i first read poetry by Robert Frost, Edgar Allan Poe, and Maya Angelou when I was about 10 years old. Inspiration comes with life so I am often inspired.

Q: Is poetry your main focus? Do you write other genres?
A: Poetry has always been my first love, its what i am passionate about. An extension of me. Im actually trying to venture into writing other genres. Murder mystery is what I am currently interested in writing.

Q: What is your writing primarily about?
A: My writing is primarily about the basics of what i go through. Love, sex, life and etc.

Q: How has response been to your current works?
A: Response to my writing suprisingly has been good, but I write maily because i love it. It is what I am best at and what i truly enjoy. Its kinda awesome to see that people enjoy it and can relate.

Q: As a young author, what is your most and least favourite part of this business?
A: My most favorite thing about the business of writing is that i get to create what i feel the way I want it, without anyone breathing down my neck about deadlines. My least favorite part is the marketing. Its tough when you are independent and have to basicly do everything on your own, and trying my best to split my time between marketing my works and producing material.

Q: Could you give us a snippet of one of your favourite pieces of work?
A: Sure. I’ll give you and entire piece of one of my favorites from m book “Kink: Erotic Endeavors” entitled “Moon Queen”. It is a little explicit but its one of my favorites.

Moon Queen

Polished by
The light
As bodies tempered
Move in fruition
Of rhythms
Passions in
Hurry while
Lips intake taste

Bed springs
Give way
To weight
Thighs spread
On cue
To his
And ass quivers
With each stroke

Flesh to flesh
Skin to skin
Inducing sweat
To glisten against
The image
Of lust
Taking over

Positions persuade
Moans to conjugate
Words becoming
The sweet nasty
That arches
The back further
Pushing pussy
To meet

Then he
Wants me to ride
With no fear
So I straddle
Facing forward
And say his
Him to vibrate
Through me

And with my
Shrouded in light
I take my
Above him

Queen of

The moon.

Q: What are your future plans for your writing?
A: My future plans for my writing is just to continue to write. Fame has never been what im after. I just want to share my voice and be heard. And hopefully I can inspire people along the way.

Q: What other projects do you have coming up?
A: I’m currently working on two books at the moment that hopefully I can get out before the end of the year.
“Lady In Waiting: Introspection” and “Muse” will be coming soon. And yes they are poetry books.

As before, we’re stirring thing up a bit…

Q: Boy shorts or Thongs?
A: Boy shorts are my fav but i don’t mind a thong either.(lol)

Q:Describe your ultimate fantasy.
A: My ultimate fantasy(even though its going to sound weird) is to be turned into a human banana split. Chocolate ala me.

Q: What naughty things could you do with food?
A: I can tie a knot in a cherry stem with my tongue. Thats about the extent of how naughty I’ll get with food. I’d rather eat the food than use it for something other (lol).

Q: Ever thought of a threesome?
A: Ive thought about a threesome but I am a little too stingy to share what is only suppose to be mine. But if it happens then it’ll be an experience.
