Showing Worth

The last couple poems on this space have been some of the daily poems I send to my beloved… Here’s another one.  I send her an email always entitled “Morning, Beautiful!” and although I may not always write a poem, I do more often than not.  Here’s another one of these poems from that collection….

Showing Worth

I rise and greet my lover with kisses
My heart flutters, even misses
A few beats; the love I feel is intense
All a happy consequence of knowing you
Your smile warms me, your loyalty’s true
The strength of it humbles me
Makes me pause, awed,
That someone like me found someone like you
I’ve always been the one to be picked on when young
Classmates ridiculed and insulted for fun
Made me hide away inside,
nearly made me a recluse
Harsh laughter slipped over my neck
Wicked hangman’s noose
But you came along, rescued me from that pain
You came & you loved me
Made my heart beat again!
I love u more than you will ever be able to know
And promise on bended knee always to show
Not only u, but the entire earth
How much I adore you, want to show off your worth!
