I met an old friend in KFC the other day and went back to work and penned this on the fly – just tweaking my poetic muscles 🙂
Chance Meeting in KFC
Flashing green eyes sparkle behind me
Mesmerize me all over again
Like if we were still teens
And I was too shy (and broke) to ask you out
How could I? Love had never crested heart’s horizon
Only the infatuation of first desire
And now, I see you again.
What of this second chance?
I get your number – chat for an hour –
Do I dare push past fear to only hear “No”
Or scare you away …
Nothing to fear – no clinging whimpering teen
But a man!
Shell destroyed; standing tall
So take me or leave me:
Invitation’s open
Your call.
I love it….I agree…she can take you or leave you, you’re adults now!

I like the easy humour in this.

I’m glad someone else saw it … I was wondering if it worked when I wrote it 🙂 But it does, evidently 🙂
