love poem, Poetry

Man, don’t you love when you go through your archives and dig up some gems you forgot about? It makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside… Check this out!

I’m trapped –
Spellbound by your stare…
Caught up like fish ensnared;
the net – your gaze.
I’m amazed that I’m still able to breathe,
Though oxygen has fled,
Under the intensity of your scrutiny.

You’ve left me breathless with excitement:
Groping for sustenance;
I am fed by every word you speak
And should seek the next
With the desperation of the drowning,
But your eyes caught me in their high-beams
And I’m stunned into stillness –
A doomed deer unable to shake the fascination of your light …

But then again, I am not trying to escape.

I have fallen into the spell of you,
Wrapped into your witchcraft,
Enthralled by your enchantments;
Mesmerized by the memories of us,
Kissing under the mellow moon
With the stars as eager voyeurs.

Weave me into your next concoction,
Make our love the main ingredient in your cauldron.
You are my witch, with which I wish to stay,
So don’t command me to cast you away!
My three wishes are boiled into one:
Simply – I want you to be my personal genie
And be bound by your spells eternally.
