This is a play on words (actually, it’s a gogyohka) based on writing prompts at the Gooseberry Garden. (Choose from Snow, December, Winter, Vacations and Wilderness – these are the themes for the Third Poetry Picnic… check out the website for the entire prompt, I’m too lazy to type it out LOL) Enjoy…
December
Wind turned cold,
biting,savage intent.
Gluttonously consuming
every heat signature –
Close the window.
Also posted as an entry in OpenLinkNight tonight at dVerse Poetry Pub. Check them at 3 PM EST (which is after 4 PM Barbadian time! I never thought to mention that ….)
Brrr…close that window please! Wonderful weave, Poet…and I’ve still got the goosebumps to prove it! Happy OpenLinkNight!!!!

And thanks …. 🙂 Barbados doesn’t have winter, but our nights are pretty darn cold during December for us who are accustomed to really hot days!

Ah yes, winter consumes everything in its way for sure! I am tired of it, and it really hasn’t yet officially started.

Well as I’m from Barbados, we don’t HAVE winter … what I’m considering chilly will probably be a nice cool night for you! But I’m glad that it speaks to you, whether you’re from a temperate country or not! Thanks for visiting!

Yup! When I was together with my ex wife, I used to want the window open, and she didn’t…. but I usu sweat like a pot cover… so I had to try to compromise – we got a fan! LOL
